Exquisite Adornment

Painting (Watercolor)
Size: 6"Hx9"W
Tulip craze: Favorite tulip of all time. I grew this flower from a bulb, patiently waiting all winter for it to flower and mature into this beautiful blossom. I did several plein air pencil sketches and experimented with varying pencil mark making to recreate the tulip. I then did two watercolor paintings of the tulip. The large painting ended up at the Atlas Spring Juried Show for three months, the little painting was the featured image on my solo show postcard.
